Weekend Review

My weekend was.. semi filled. It wasn't super busy, but it was busy enough.

Friday night I just hung around the house... watched Hangover Part 2.. and didn't really do too much.

Saturday I woke up nice and early and took a trip into town with my mom to Martins Appliances, where I bought my very own first fridge! Whoever thought that one day I would be so excited to buy a fridge... it's almost sad. But, I am. It was on sale and a great deal, and it's a perfect fridge for us. I also picked out all the other appliances I have to get, and the couch I want. I'm set... I'll just keep poking my head in every once in awhile to see if any of the others go on sale, then BAM I'm going to get them! The nice thing is this place will hold my stuff until I'm ready, then deliver and install for FREE! It's awesome, and totally keeps me stress free. I can't wait for you all to see our home..... 3 more months...

After running around buying fridges and shit.. I came home.. did some cleaning.. and took a nap. what.. a nap?!?! Yes, I never take naps, ever. But damn did it feel good. I then decided to start our taxes.... and a few hours later finished the federal. If you haven't seen the commercial yet where the mom, dad, and daughter are dancing after doing their taxes to the song..."this is how we do it" That was me and my husband... too bad my portion is going to new couches... oh the joys of growing old. (Also, I did my online. So my dancing was in the privacy of my own )

Sunday was also a jam packed day. I got up super early to get ready... packed the car with myself, my husband, sister in law and nephew and headed up to Lititz (its a town, if you don't know) to Ryan's cousins 13th birthday party. On the way I made two stops. The first was a stop where I bought a large bundle of CLEANING SUPPLIES... yessss.... Have you seen these sites? Most of them are called yardsale groups on Facebook... and I love them. Pretty much to sum it up... its a place where people can go on and sell their stuff, make deals, and so forth, like a yard sale. I've already gotten a few things off here.. I got Ryan's mini fridge for his man cave for Christmas off here, it was near brand new.. and at a great price.. my mom also got my brother a water cooler that was brand new for $20! So, as these sites got bigger... the couponers started to take advantage... and were putting bundles of you name it on there.. I was intrigued, and finally decided to get one, a big one, she custom made me one. I figured I might as well start getting supplies for the house... cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, hand soap, body wash, shampoos & conditioners, laundry detergent, fabric softener.. that was just some of the items in my bundle. It was a good deal. I then did my second stop for ANOTHER yardsale deal... I know, it's crazy. I have been wanting to get my dog Leo a new crate for awhile.. but they are so expensive... well guess what? I found one on the yard sale site for $20.... I snatched that up real quick. And it's only been used a few times, exactly what I wanted, and I was a happy camper. If you're into these type of things... check out your local area on facebook to see if it has one. Here is my local yard sale group. After all the dealing... we finally made it up to the party and had a nice relaxing day with family.

Overall... a very successful weekend.

Happy Birthday Little Brother

Today is my little brother's 21st birthday!

Although, I have to admit, that even though he is my little brother, he's not very little at all, considering that he towers over me, but he's still younger then me.

His name is Dan, Dan the man.He is a bright, smart lad... and a pretty cool brother (sometimes)

Yes, I admit we have our ups and downs, but doesn't all siblings? It just wouldn't be normal to not fight with your brother or sister... it's a completely different fight if you ask me. You know? It can get crazy. Especially when Mom is yelling at you to stop, and as soon she turns her head you grab the vacuum (or nearest object) and just wack them. True story. But, it makes me laugh now.

We have a lot of great stories... From beginning to now.. I'll share a few.

My brother and I are only 15 months apart... I know, not much between us. But, we literally grew up together. We didn't have years apart.. we were one grade apart, so we went through everything around the same time.

So, you have to realize when he was just an infant, I wasn't much bigger myself. I thought he was my baby doll, he was "my baby"  My mom loves to tell this story. I would want to help give him a bath (and practically drown him) or I would want to feed him, he was my baby. I even decided to pick him up when he was just days old when my mom wasn't looking for a split second. She said I walked over to her, with him dangling from my arm (arm around neck) and said, "look mommy, my baby" She almost had a heart attack.

Besides actually trying to kill him, I did save his life one time. My mother was doing laundry (or something) and she told me that she had left us for a brief minute, we had to have been around 2 and 3, or 3 and 4 maybe? Anyway, she came back and I said, "look momma, I saved him." As I was holding a balloon in my hand, and Dan was sitting there still gasping for air. You can assume that while he thought he was blowing up the balloon, he actually inhaled it, and he was choking. I actually stuck my hand down his throat and pulled it out, I was no more then 4, but I did this, and I saved his life. Let's just say Mom never gave us balloons again. Don't give your kids balloons :-)

Through the good and the bad, he's always made me laugh. He is the funniest guy you'd ever meet, seriously. The stuff that comes out of his mouth, I just look at him and I'm like, "Are you serious right now" hah! He should be a comedian, he'd make a good one. He's the one that can make you go into a laughing fit, and it takes you half an hour to come out of.

Happy Birthday to my little brother, who I seriously couldn't live without. I'm so proud of the man you have become, and I look forward to what lies ahead for both of us. I love you Danny Boy! Now, let's go out and celebrate tonight...21st style.

I have the weirdest dog... ever.

I've written a little about my dog Leo, and even have a little section under The Animals about him that you can check out and read about his story and some of the other pets we have.

But, to recap... Leo is a 4, working on 5 (In July) year old Shih-Tzu. He's a piece of work. I know a lot of people will say, "oh my dog is so smart" or "oh my dog is crazy." This may be true, but I have never, ever, met a dog who is as strange and loyal as my dog Leo.

I also wonder why he has made this huge attachment to me. I know I am his master, although I call myself his momma, because I am, and he knows me as momma, but he is on me like white on rice. Literally. This dog, does not leave my side... whenever I am around. When I leave for longer then a day? He gets depressed. He will not be in a room without me, which makes for him eating his food a task, I have to usually be there (or at least someone be there) for him to eat. Plus, he is the pickiest eater I've ever seen. I've tried all sorts of dogs foods, and find that he will only eat the foods he really shouldn't have every day, like the moist and meaties, or whatever. He will literally pick out certain kibbles, and throw them on the floor, consistently... he can be ass.

Just look at those eyes...

As for the strange... I mean, I trained him well. He does the usually sit, stay, fetch, roll over, but he also sings, and when i say stay, oh you bet he stays... I'll even put him in time out when he is bad, and he will mope and pout, but he doesn't move out of that spot until I tell him it's ok. I know, weird? But, besides the usually commands, he listens. He truly understand the human language. If I tell him to move over 2 feet, he will. If i tell him to go lay somewhere or do something else, he usually does. If I tell him I will be right back (remember he insists on following me, and sometimes I'd like to use the bathroom in PEACE!) he will stay in that spot, until I come back. He almost looks at me for permission when someone else wants to hold or pet him, and I tell him its OK and he goes. It's truly amazing what this dog knows.

He also loves everything that moves... the cat, babies, the rat, you name it, he loves it.

But, I love him. He makes me laugh, and he really is such a great dog. Last night, Ryan and I were laughing at him, because as Ryan sat there and practice his harmonica (see yesterday's post) Leo decided he wanted to sing along, I mentioned before that he loves to sing, he really does. It makes me laugh. So, without further adieu.. I present Mr. Leo and the Hubby, playing a song for me. (This is just a small clip of it)

Too cute huh?
