Weekend Review: My new pup pup

THis weekend was of course busy... when don't I have a busy weekend?

To sum it up.. we did a lot of work outside, some much needed gardening and weeding. It's amazing how quickly things can add up when you don't keep up with it. It really wasn't that bad, but there were a few flower beds that needed some attention.

We made zucchini bread from a very large zucchini that we got from our garden, and I must say it is pretty tasty. I still have HALF of the zucchini which I will be making two more loaves tomorrow night. Got to love making stuff that the ingredients you grew straight from your own garden.

We also got our first picking of sugar daddy peas, which I snapped and prepared for freezing. I can't wait to pick those out of the freezer this winter... it's a great feeling.

The biggest even this weekend was that we got a new dog! Her name is Mayzie, and she is a 5 year old Boston Terrier. We adopted her from a good family, who due to unfortunate events could not keep her anymore. And, I have to say that she is settling in very well. She really is a great dog. Very laid back, and listens great to us from only knowing us a few days now. I know she will be even better once she really gets use to us, but she is definitely getting there.

Leo is making the adjustment. He is always so grouchy at first when meeting new dogs, but he grows fond of them in time. He's always been momma's little boy, so it doesn't help that for the last 5 years, it has just been him, being spoiled rotten. But, he's also a great dog, and I know soon they will be best buds.

Here is our new little girl....

OH busy summer...

It has been a busy, busy week... from getting ready for the beach.. to going to the beach, to Father's Day BBQ... and being sick. yuck.

Our beach trip was nice... could have definitely been better.. considering both of us were sick the whole time, so it totally killed the mood. But, I guess I'd rather be sick at the beach, then sick at home. It was also a bit chilly, and windy.. like sandstorm windy. Saturday was actually not too bad, and I even got a bit of sun. But, for future beach trips.. I think I'll wait until like maybe July to go down.. June just seems too early still. The water wasn't that bad either though, surprisingly. I did get in for like a total of 20 minutes, not because it was cold, because it was insanely CRAZY out there, like take you away, far, far into the ocean crazy. So, I stayed in for as long as I could!

We are finally starting to feel better though.. After we got some meds of course.. I really hate getting sick in the summer.. It's lame.

Our company left tonight... My brother and sister in law from California.. As much as it will be nice to have just hubby And me time again..I'm going to miss them. We don't get to see them but a few times a year. That's military for ya.. So, they are on their 2700 mile trip back to Cali.

Back to the grime of work.. No future vacations planned yet...

Here's a few pictures from the past week..

eShakti - A review

Hey folks... I have a review for you today on a website called eShakti. I was emailed a few weeks ago asking if I would like to do a review on this website called eShakti. Don't ask me how to pronounce it, because I'm not 100% sure.

Anyway, so I got on their website, because I had never heard of them before and saw that they do customizable clothing/accessories, and thought "Wow, sweet!" They also carry sizes 0-26W, something for everyone.

I decided to take my chance and get my own free item and try it out. I thought the website was pretty neat, in the fact that you can customize the clothes to your liking. I liked that, alot. I'm picky when it comes to dresses, I like them to look a certain way on me. So, I took my chance.

I went with this dress:

I thought it was a nice casual, but possibly evening dress. It could be used for multiple occasions. I decided I didn't like the length, and wanted it a bit more shorter. Hello? Customizable remember!? I also hate strapless, and decided to throw in some straps too. I loved the ability to customize it how I wanted to and it's FREE to do. For being able to completely customize to my liking (look, sizing, length, etc) the pricing for the dress wasn't too bad. You can check on the dress I got here.

I got the dress in not too long ago. I have to say that it came pretty quickly considering it came from India, where one of their. When I opened up the box and took out the dress, I have to be honest that I wasn't too thrilled with the material, which I went back and double checked and it said 100% Cotton, woven poplin. I know that poplin is used more commonly for high quality garments, which is a plus, and in the fact that it is a well made dress, but for me, I was just not a fan of it. Items made from this material are easy to iron and do not wrinkle easily, so that is another plus. If the fabric was just a little softer, as I thought cotton would, and not so hard, I might have been a bigger fan.

I decided to put it on anyway, and once again was a little disappointed. It didn't fit me near as well as it should, and with the fit-and-flare shape, as described on the website, it was a more be way tight at the top and BAM, flare that shit wayyyy out type of dress. It made my ass look... way big. Not quite the look I was hoping for.

It could very well be that I totally picked the wrong dress for me, and that another dress on the website might do me better. I really did like the ability to customize the dress, and they do have some super cute stuff on there. It's definitely a unique website, with a lot of features that many do not have. You can check out eShakti here.

I think that I would definitely give them another chance, and try customizing another dress to my liking. Possibly pick something more bright and colorful. The don't just have dresses, that have tops, skirts, bags, and more. It worth taking a peek at!

Hurry Up Thursday.

I wanted to write about a post of my weekend yesterday, but honestly, wasn't in the mood to do much of anything yesterday.

But, for a quick recap, my weekend went well. Saturday we had a big family BBQ at our place for Ryan's brother's 21st birthday. It went great for our first big cookout (there were 25 people there) I believe everyone had a good time.

Sunday, was a relaxing day. It was super hot out, so a few hours in the sun and a new sprinkler for my nephew to play in kept the day interesting. Of course, Sunday's are finished at my Mom's for our little family dinner. It's always nice to spend time with my parents.

I don't have much going on this week, besides that I LEAVE FOR THE BEACH ON THURSDAY!

I'm so excited to just getaway. I so need this mini-vacation, like bad. Well be leaving Thursday night to head down to Ocean City, Maryland and stay until Sunday when we come home to go to a Father's Day BBQ at Ryan's Grandparents. I just can't wait to bask in the sun, feel the cold water, and have my feet in the sand. Let alone, I can't wait to just sit around with friends and enjoy the relaxation. Of course, we also plan to go out to Seacrets, which is a fun hot spot.

It better be sunny and nice is all that I have to say, or else this lady here will NOT be a happy camper. I'll be doing some more smaller beach days trips, and other day trips here and there, but for my vacation this year? This is pretty much it, and I want to enjoy it thoroughly.

I'm just to that point where I need to get away from work, life, and everything in between.

Hurry up Thursday.

Hellooo Friday.

Sometimes I wish I could go through the week without wishing it was Friday everyday....

My weekends are usually so jammed pack that all week long I just stress and think about them everyday. That makes Monday thru Thursday obsolete.

Sorry Monday thru Thursday but Friday is my favorite day... what can I say. Maybe, if my job was like some crazy super fun job, I wouldn't feel the need to want Friday to be here so quickly... that'll be the day.

This weekend is full of family fun. Tomorrow we are hosting my brother in law's 21st birthday BBQ at our house. There will be around 25 people there... I have lots of cleaning to do tonight. I also have lots of cupcakes to make.

I'm making death by chocolate cupcakes. I made it as a cake once and it turned out fabulous.. so I decided for my sanity's sake to make it into cupcakes.. saves me time and stress..I am sure they will come out scrumptious.

Hopefully, it is really nice tomorrow, just hoping no rain decides to show up and crash the party.

Sunday will be a realzing (relaxing) day finally... We don't have much do to besides sit around and then go to my parent's for our Sunday family dinner. In the early afternoon I will be taking my brother and sister in law out to a nearby park to take some family photos of them, so i am pretty excited about that. Hopefully, they turn out as good as I am, hoping they will. The park is really pretty and has a lot of open feields (fields) and woods, and even a cute creek running through part of it.

Overall it will be a great weekend...

Hope your weekend is as jammed packed as mine, or not, whatever floats your boat!

**I bet you were wonering (wondering) why I had misspelled words throughout this post, with the corrected word beside it huh? I decided it would be fun to type this whole post with my eyes shut.. I know corny.. but I'm actually really tired, and it felt good to close my eyes... 3 mistakes..hmm not too bad huh? I like to consider myself a pretty good typer.. fast too... oh so bored.

=) Have a great weekend!

My Summer Bucket List

It may feel a little cold out this week, but Summer is just around the corner. Actually, 2 weeks away.

I've seen them all around, you know, the bucket lists? I printed out a few for these past seasons, and they really are fun for Ryan and I. We enjoy trying to accomplish getting as much of the bucket lists done that we can. It also (and I hate to say it) helps us do things together. Not that we don't want to, but life can get so busy that we forget to stop and enjoy it. These bucket lists remind us of the little things we can do that can make the best memories.

This time, I decided to make my own.

Here is my Summer bucket list....

**Feel free to use, or get ideas from! If you would like a printable copy, email me a request!

My crazy weekend continued...

I told you that I would elaborate more in another post about my weekend... because it just deserved it's own post.

Friday night we headed down to New Jersey, to stay with some friends before the concert on Saturday. We went to the XTU Country Concert in Camden, NJ. We had to get up  early to beat traffic the next morning and headed out around 9:30 in the morning to get to the concert.. which was really only 20 minutes away. Traffic wasn't too bad and we arrived and started to set up our tailgate party.

The parking lot wasn't too full (yet) and it was actually a lot of fun.We hung out, drank beer, played some games, met some people around us. It was a good time.

By lunch time it was definitely crowded, the whole parking lot was full.. must have been hundreds of people there tailgating for the party... only real downside?

There were only 3 bathrooms! I'm talking bathroom stalls. Luckily, we were smart enough to bring our own tippee.. because there was none to be found. You had to hide that shit, or people were on you like white on rice to get some. We could have totally sold that for like $1 a square..(ideas for next time?)
Playing Beer Pong

By around 3 pm.. things started getting crazy. You put a bunch of drunk rednecks together, you're bound to have an interesting time... a rowdy time. And rowdy it got.

There was a group across from us that actually brought things just to smash. Just for the hell of it I guess.. they brought an exercise bike and an old TV.. talk about crazy. They started smashing this stuff like there was no tomorrow.. and like 20 people got in on that action. It was entertaining to say the least.

But after everyone was all hyped up.. it just went downhill from there. Before we new it, we were watching an all out brawl in the middle of the parking lot with like 25 guys. All we saw were elbows flying, and don't forget the glass beer bottles. Insane.

People were acting like it was the end of the world... I've never seen anything like it in my life.

As the fight started making it's way towards us, we kind of hid behind the cars... but luckily the police showed up. Two on harleys, 2-3 walking behind them with RIOT GEAR.. <> and another behind them, and he was the k-9 unit, with this big old mean black German Shepard, who was lunging at people.

HOLY CRAP.

It took them awhile to get it under control.. and I'd look around and just see more and more fights starting in other areas.. it was never ending! There were ambulances and medics running all around. People were getting hurt, some seriously injured.

It was time for us TO GO.

It was a 10-15 minute walk to the center where the concert was, so we packed up and headed out. (All the while yelling at people who were getting on our cars, and doing stupid stuff. People were hooligans) Oh, we also had to make a pit stop for the SERIOUSLY drunk guy beside our car who looked like he was going to die.. I kid you not. We found a paramedic and told him.. and you know what he said? "We have a lot of kids like that right now, we don't have time."

WOW.... that's when we saw the guy he was taking care of... blood from head to toe who had been stabbed with a beer bottle!!! OK.. really time to go.

We finally got to the concert, and besides it being totally crowded, it was actually a good time. I got to see Chris Young who I love, and Uncle Kraker, and Jarred Neiman. It turned out to be an overall exciting, crazy, scary, fun day.. all jammed into one.

.
We all got totally burnt.
Sitting on the lawn watching the concert.
ohhh blue skies.
After the concert was done, we were hesitant to go back to our car, we had no idea what it was going to be like. The parking lot was pretty much empty, besides a few stragglers. But, here was the after math of the "party"

Insane-ness.

And that was my eventful weekend

Weekend Review: Craziness

My weekend was crazy to say the least.

It really deserves it's own post.. but I have too much to talk about today to do that.

I'll give you an overview. Put a bunch of redneck drunks together...(alot of rednecks) it's bound to get interesting and rowdy. Remember, I was going to that concert down in New Jersey this weekend? Don't get me wrong, we had a great time, and I loved seeing Chris Young, he was fabulous, but 6 hours of tailgating really wears you out! I'll go more into it tomorrow.

That was pretty much my weekend.. got home early Sunday morning, did a few things outside, ordered pizza with my mom, and watched the thunderstorms roll in. Now, it's back to the grime of Monday. (sigh)

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I found out yesterday that my grandfathers lymphoma first cancer treatment didn't work. How do you react to that? After months of hoping, and wishing he would get better... he's not. Instead, he faces a serious choice of what to do next. How do you react?

I just sat there.

Until about 12:30 last night... when I finally broke into tears. Luckily, my amazing husband was right there to hold me.. it helped, for the moment.

Sometimes I wonder why the world is so cruel, why someone so great, so loving, and so much fun, should have to go through something like this. It's not fair. Life's not fair.

I hope he picks what is right for him, what will make him content, what will be the best. I pray that we find a way to get around this, for him to just get better. I pray.

So much going on right now, sometimes it's hard to just hold it all in. It builds, and builds. I can only take so much before I just burst... I think last night was my first burst of many to come.

Sometimes, I wish I could just run away to a deserted island... or mountain top. Live off the land with Ryan, have life be so simple... just us, without a care in the world. Just seems it be so much easier.

So many things...

Tonight I head to New Jersey to spend the weekend with some friends. We are all heading to the XTU Country Concert at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ for an all day affair of nothing but countryyy.

So e.x.c.i.t.e.d!! There are going to be some great artists there, including, Miranda Lambert and Chris Young, just to name a few (big ones!) It's going to be a day of tail-gating and fun.

I won't be home until Sunday morning/afternoon... somewhere in between there. At this point, I am so ready for a mini-vaca, even if I'm not going very far, and it's over my weekend anyway.

I'm torn with a decision right now, and I don't want to go into details too much, until I've made my decision. It's not something life changing, but it's not a small decision either. I'm on the fence, and I keep going back and forth over the fence.

I think it's one of those things were my heart says one thing, but my brain says no. Which one do I go with?

I know.. they always say go with your heart.

I hate decisions. Especially since this one seems simple, yet, hard altogether. I'm going to really think it through this weekend, and hopefully decide on something. Of course, I will fill you all in when the time is right.

Like I said, it's not life changing, just a small decision I have to make. I just don't want to jump into something before I know what I want... (and no, it's not about me having kids) I know some of my readers will think that instantly.

Not yet at least.

Have a great weekend everyone... I'll be back in a few days.
