Winter wonderland

It finally looked like Winter this past weekend. The first real snow of the season... If you remember I posted about a crazy snow storm back in October, I don't like to count that because it was just ridiculous. Mother Nature must have been in a foul mood that day.

So, of course the hubby and I went out and played in the snow... You're never too old to do this!

We had two days of playing... Saturday we went out ourselves and had a good time on the tubes that he brought home from work. Those actually come out of tractor tires... and they make for perfect sledding!

Sunday, we invited our sister in law and nephew to come over and play. See, my nephew who was born in this area has been living out in the Mohave desert for awhile while his daddy who is a Marine is stationed out there. So, even though he has seen snow, he was too young to really see it for what it's worth. Now that he's older and more aware, and a fun playing partner, he just loved it.

We have some awesome sledding hills. I live in a valley and our meadow is perfect for sledding. I don't have any pictures of this the hill I am talking about, because it would be dangerous to bring the camera out there. I know it would get broken or wet, or something! The pictures below are on what we call the kiddy hill by the barn. It was perfect for Reese. Although, we did take him down the big hill a few times and he enjoyed that as well, you can really get going fast. The only part is having to walk back up the hill, its a workout. I do have to admit I feel like I am getting to old to walk that hill, or maybe just too out of shape? hmmm...

Take a look at my weekend!

My nephew Reese... If you look closely, you can see our "soon to be" home in the background. =)

Yes, he is sliding down the hill on a shovel, redneck? Yes.

Redneck again... long horn cattle skull. I thought it made for an interesting pic though?

Overall, it was a good weekend.
