I'm so over painting.. even though I'm not too bad of a painter, I kind of hate it.
After weeks of what felt like on and off painting, it is complete.
FINALLY!
Well, as complete as it's going to get for a good while at least.
No, I didn't paint all the rooms, I have to admit, I just primed 3 of them. But, honestly? I DONT GIVE A SHIT at this point.
We are going to remodel the two bathrooms, so why even bother with actually painting it. I have to say that the primer (which is an off white) made the bathrooms look a whole hell of a lot better then what they were. Walls with stains and drywall patches isn't too pretty, but a little primer on them does wonders. So, for me, that is quite alright. I'll actually paint them when we redo them.. so screw it, it looks great.
As for the spare bedroom, I primed that too, because at this point I don't even know what color I want to paint it, so the primer gave it a better look, just like the bathrooms. Plus, I don't even think anyone would really know unless I told them... even though I just told you.
(Don't give a shit, remember?)
Anyway... I'm just glad that is over with, and now I can have a bathroom back, and can get on with my life somehow.
Busy Busy weekend coming up. Lots of BBQs and lots of cleaning, preparing, organizing, before my brother and sister in law come in. It will be fun having them visit... even with a 3 year old and two dogs, I can handle it.. (I think) =)
Happy Memorial weekend everyone... and don't forget to remember just what this weekend is about.

About to fall over...
This week thus far has been so hectic...
So many things we have done to the house in just a few days, and so many more to do! I am pleased though of what we have done... and I can't wait for the final results.
Sleep? Who needs that....
I say that now with a large cup of coffee in my hand that will soon be the first of many.
By the afternoon I am ready to crash.. sitting at work at a desk makes me oh so sleepy. I don't think that I have had more then 5 hours of sleep each night. Oh well.... it will be worth it. The long nights of cleaning, unpacking, organizing, painting, will be definitely worth it.
I do have to say that I cannot wait to actually get some furniture in the house. It's so empty in there, it's kind of fun though. We just have a small table with camp chairs, and that's it for down stairs, haha! And then our mattress upstairs on the floor. We are shampooing the carpets tonight, so once that is done we can finally start bringing in some furniture!
Moving into your own home is SO much work.. but it really is fun. Even though we have lots of projects to do around the house, lots of fix-ups and upgrades, it will be great.
Tonight I can finally finish painting my bedroom (we had to have some drywall work in a few places upstairs) Then it's all down hill from there! I will definitely be HAPPY to finally be done painting, for now. What a pain in my butt, but the wow effect of a nice fresh coat of paint has on a room is worth it.
We sat there last night and were relaxing in our garage for a few minutes, and I just loved to hear Ryan talk about how proud he is of us, and the work we have done on the house and the way it is coming along. It was nice. We have so much planned for the house, but I know in time it will be done and the house will be just right. I can live with a few of the things for awhile... but not forever. (aka.. new kitchen!)
Friday our appliances are scheduled to be delivered, I cant wait! Although, we had a mess up with the microwave I bought. I got the microwave that matched my stove and fridge.. it was an above the stove type of microwave, not counter top. I like them like that, except come to find out our cabinets don't like it very much, and to customize them would take a lot of time and they would look super funny... so I decided to keep the microwave anyway (since it matched) and store it until we re-do our kitchen next year. For now, I'm just going to get a cheap one to go on the counter top, whether I like it or not. It will do for now. Oh, the joys of getting a home!
I love it though... and I love my house..I can't wait for all of you to see it!

Weekend Review... Car show, painting, sunburn
This weekend was busy of course like every other weekend in my life.. will it ever stop? Probably not.
Friday night I tore down my bedroom set to get ready for a makeover Sunday.
Saturday was spent all day at my dad's business (AG-Industrial Inc) car show that he has every year. It's the Spring Fling, and there is always a free lunch and good sales. It is a tractor dealership, so they have/do it all from sell you the tractor, to fixing it, to having the parts you need, etc.
Here is one of my dads cars that he brought to the show... he just finished this one, isn't she a beauty? From what I know, she's also a pretty rare one too, or at least her insides are. or something like that (hah). But, I'm not an expert.
After the show, I did some sanding on the bedroom furniture, got changed and went out to hang out with one of my girls who was down from Connecticut. It was so nice seeing her... we had dinner and sat around the fire all night.
Sunday I spent all day painting the bedroom set, which will be put into the spare bedroom when we move. It definitely needed a makeover. This bedroom set was actually my aunts before it was mine, and I've had it for a very long time! It was a cream color with gold edging, yes gold, so 70's right? So, I repainted it white.. and it looks like a totally new set.
I also got burnt in the process... I was literally outside in the sun painting, and it was hot yesterday, almost 90. (it's going to be 90 today, hello hot April?) Stupid me didn't think to put sunscreen on.. and I'm totally paying for it. I'll be rubbing apple cider vinegar all over me tonight... did you know that's the best way to heal sunburn and prevent peeling? Yes, it may smell gross, but it works.
That was the gist of my busy weekend....
This week will be just as busy. I have a few last minute things we need to do before we start packing our lives away =)..... 12 days until we move!!!! I just can't believe it is right around the corner...
But, then I can, because I've waited almost 7 months (patiently) to move into my home... so baby, bring it on!

Weekend review - scary movies, painting and a home depot trip
Friday night started out hanging with this cool cat...
This is my cousin Devan.. and he can be a riot, such a fun loving human being.
We got pizza and I rented Paranormal Activity 3. He loves scary movies... my husband? Not soo much. But it was a nice evening!
He loves to brush my hair...
I have no objections, I love it!
Saturday was spent painting..
Big surprise huh? The good news is we finished painting (water proofing) the basement. We have a few other tricks up our sleeves and hopefully we can get a handle on this water leaking problems... All I have to say is I am so glad that project is DONE!
That was it for Saturday.. although I did do a little shopping Saturday morning.. getting some coupon deals and such... I love getting $14 off just from coupons.
Sunday.. we did some more work on the house and finished up early, so my Mother and I took a trip to home depot... Yes, this is how I love to spend my Sunday afternoons now, because I'm turning into an old lady. I had to price some stuff out.. and bought a couple items for the house. You know, rain gutter things you put at the bottom to make the water go away from the house, whatever they are called. This is my idea of a good time now I guess, buying gutter things.
And that concluded my short but busy weekend...

My next few nights...
This is how I will be spending the rest of my week...
Painting, and looking at this hunk...
I have to admit... the hunk gets me through it.. and the vision of a finished basement too.
But, the painting? Yeah, that sucks...
I'd say in 2 1/2 hours last night we got a quarter of the basement done... it went by fast, and my hands and shoulders were definitely feeling it by the end. But, I'm not one to complain.....that much.
Of course Ryan, being the best husband kept complimenting me on my painting, and was telling me I was doing such a good job... maybe he was afraid I'd give up and leave it all to him.
I would never do that (although, I did think of it.)...this is as much of a dream/vision of mine as it is his, and it feels good to be working on our home, together.
So, if I don't write much this week.. it's probably because this is all my life is consisting of these next couple days... which writing about painting everyday could get boring.
We were having a good time while we painted.. we made sure to bring an iPod player and were singing and dancing while we threw the paint on... so it's not all that bad =)
But, I'll definitely be happy when its over...
